Within the email was our accommodation key-code. Rather than having to queue to check in as we have done so often at Center Parcs, we were able to walk straight to our accommodation and simply type in the code. Rather than take a taxi which is usually a hassle for the five of us we chose to use the free shuttle bus from the airport. There was no air conditioning within the accommodation which meant it got really hot inside. They were really friendly and seemed to enjoy the company.
There was however heating which would come in handy during the colder months. A quick search led us to Lalandia. Lalandia is situated just five minutes taxi ride from Billund Airport and directly opposite the Legoland Resort. My eldest in particular can spend hours making elaborate creations. The Free City Shuttle Bus runs from the airport to the major hotels, holiday parks and attractions throughout Billund.
The accommodation can be quite far away from the centre where all the activities are. The Aquadome is a huge waterpark offering a multitude of slides and pools to suit the whole family. The majority of the time though we chose to walk. All three of our kids are massive Lego fans. Despite these niggles the positives did outweigh the negatives. inom felt constantly on edge!
The day we arrived the thermostat informed us it was 32 degrees in the living area! A final negative was the sheer amount of daddy longlegs in and around the accommodation! It had a very festive vibe even in August! To comfortably fit the five of us, we had two accommodation options: Design Plus 6 or Classic Plus 6. The kids particularly enjoyed the high trampoline, it was the one thing they always requested another vända on.
There was a whole Winter Zone, which as you would expect was much cooler than the rest of the centre. The Aquadome was included in the price of the stay.

A few days before arrival we were sent information via email regarding our stay. There are lots of activities within the centre of Lalandia. The weather was glorious the whole time we where there so the walk was a pleasant one. There were also plenty activities that you could pay extra for. The main attraktion is definitely the Aquadome waterpark. We knew our days would be spent out exploring so we were more than happy with the more basic option.
Another reason we enjoyed the walk was the opportunity to see the dwarf goats! Within the accommodation was a sealed envelope addressed to us with all the information we would need for our stay, along with wristbands for each of us to grant us tillgång to the pool and play areas. The accommodation itself was lovely and much bigger than I anticipated considering it was the more basic option. It took us approximately minutes to walk to our accommodation from the centre.
They have a huge fenced of area to roam around and guests are invited to meet them. There was Mini Golf and Bowling which were great for the whole family.

Thankfully there is a free land train that runs every half an hour to and from the accommodation which can save tired legs. One or two I can cope with but our front door was covered in them, and at one point we counted ten inside our actual living space. There must have been around twenty of them and they all seemed gentle and friendly. After watching a documentary about the Lego House in Billund , we knew we had to take a trip to the home of Lego.
To read more about it check out our Aquadome Billund review. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a washer and tumble drier in the bathroom which handy. The layout was a little odd and the bathroom was directly opposite the main door. It took longer a taxi ride would have but it enabled us to see the area and where we would like to visit in the upcoming days. We had no option but to open the fönster because it was absolutely sweltering and our accommodation seemed to be catnip for daddy longlegs!
